Paid Review Program

What this program is

Vendors on Timepass Games can hire independent reviewers to write honest reviews of their products. Reviewers are paid for their time and effort — never for a particular rating or opinion. Every review produced through this program is clearly labeled Paid review wherever it appears.

FTC disclosure & honesty

In line with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidance, the material connection between the reviewer and the vendor is always disclosed. Reviewers must base their review on genuine use of the product and share their real opinion, including criticism. Compensation is for an honest review — not a positive one — and vendors may not condition payment on a minimum rating or require edits that misrepresent the reviewer's experience.

Review tiers

• Text — a written, honest review based on genuine use, with a 1–5 star rating and a clear title.
• Text + photos — everything in the text tier, plus original photographs of the product taken by the reviewer.
• Video — a video review (shared as a hosted link), with a short written summary and rating.

Reviewer certification

Reviewers build a track record from the ratings vendors give their completed work. A reviewer becomes certified once they reach a 4.5★ average over their last 10 reviews, or a 4.0★ average over their last 25. Certified reviewers are paid upfront when they accept a request; everyone else is paid from escrow once the vendor approves and publishes the review. Certification is removed immediately if a reviewer's average drops below the threshold.

On-platform communication

All communication between vendors and reviewers happens through Timepass Games. To protect both sides and keep the program accountable, messages are automatically screened, and shared contact details or off-platform links are removed. Attempting to move work off-platform is a violation of the program agreement.

For vendors

You can browse reviewers, request a review at the tier you want, and message the reviewer on-platform. When the review is delivered you either approve it — which publishes it to your product page and releases payment — or skip it. Skipping an under-rated (non-certified) reviewer's work refunds your payment; you cannot require a positive review, only an honest one.
